Soil Science Australia has awarded the Griffith EBRL’s Dr Maryam Esfandbod with the 2016 Postgraduate Award for Excellence in Soil Science! Soil Science Australia’s QLD Branch noted that the scope, innovation, and depth of research addressed by Dr Esfandbod’s thesis on ‘Roles of biochar in the rehabilitation of degraded lands’ placed her work at a higher level than the other candidates.
